Welcome to the Sons of Liberty webpage.  I decided after the debacle of the last general election in 2012 to put up this webpage in order to have a voice.  Like many of you I have felt completely helpless against what unfortunately has happened - the second term election of Barack Hussein Obama, and what I believe to be the consequences of this election

The purpose of this webpage is myriad.  One of the most important reasons is for me to be able to write about what is going on in our country and to speak with likeminded Americans who want to be heard and also to know the comfort that there are people out there who think similar to you.  My first article for this page is "Thoughts on the Presidential Election of 2012."  I wrote this piece in November 2012 right after the election and as you will read, I have serious concerns about our future.  In the comings days, I'll write on political issues as well as morality issues, since they are truly linked.

President George Washingon said in his 1796 Farewell address:  "Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connexions with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. It is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who, that is a sincere friend to it, can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?"

So here, forthwith, is my commentary in the blog to the right.  Let me know what you think.

WHERE ARE THE PATRIOTS? – PATRICK HENRY WE NEED YOU!

by Gerri Gibney on 02/25/13

Does anyone feel like I do?  First, I was deflated by the 2012 general election; practically in a depression, I was.  Then the Benghazi debacle and the lack of information we have been given by the administration.  I take that back, the lies we have been fed by Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the rest of the liars.  Then we heard or read the conservative media telling us not to give in, to buck up, to keep up the fight.  And, whatever we do, to remember the mid-term elections are right around the corner.

Now we have come to another turn in our emotional journey and that is many of the conservative writers and so-called thinkers and leaders of the party telling us we need to be quiet, don’t wreck the Republican Party with our conservatism.  If you read any of the articles I have, you would think it was our fault that we lost in November, and now we are about to decimate the Grand Old Party forever!  Why?  We don’t appeal to the broad middle, the so-called, independent voter; we don’t have a good story for any of the minorities; and our narrative simply does not play for the young.  With what I have been reading, why should we do anything at this point?  Buck up and fight?  We are told we’re too dogmatic, that economics are not the problem, we are forgetting the people.  Really?  So we should be looking to bankrupt the American people to give away everything that is earned in order to make the middle be content?  Am I missing something here?

Are these in name only Republicans crazy?  Quite frankly, they need to get out of our way, and we should be screaming, yelling, and do whatever is necessary to let those people in Washington know we are fed up and they better do what we want or WE WILL VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE!  There is no mid-ground here.  One of our main problems is that we have NO ONE, NOT ONE PERSON, who can articulate what we are all about.  Barack Hussein Obama is on the attack.  We should be the ones on the attack – no holds barred!  He is coming down the pike with programs that are nightmares, that are mandated by him, not legislated by the Congress, and the American public does not have a clue.  And, when any and all of this fails, Barack Hussein Obama will blame it on the Republicans.

Who is going to be the first PATRIOT who stands up and says; “Mr. President, you are a liar!”  The sequester is Barack Hussein Obama’s idea in the first place, now live with it!  DO NOT CAVE IN, Republicans!  Do not be afraid, right is on your side.  We are not communists, we are Americans, and it is high time you start acting like patriots.  Truth always wins out, but if you don’t speak it, who is even going to know it?  Courage, pray unceasingly, pray as if your country depends upon it.

I had written a very thoughtful and long comment, but the word verification step knocked me out. Get rid of this feature, Gerri.
