Welcome to the Sons of Liberty webpage.  I decided after the debacle of the last general election in 2012 to put up this webpage in order to have a voice.  Like many of you I have felt completely helpless against what unfortunately has happened - the second term election of Barack Hussein Obama, and what I believe to be the consequences of this election

The purpose of this webpage is myriad.  One of the most important reasons is for me to be able to write about what is going on in our country and to speak with likeminded Americans who want to be heard and also to know the comfort that there are people out there who think similar to you.  My first article for this page is "Thoughts on the Presidential Election of 2012."  I wrote this piece in November 2012 right after the election and as you will read, I have serious concerns about our future.  In the comings days, I'll write on political issues as well as morality issues, since they are truly linked.

President George Washingon said in his 1796 Farewell address:  "Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connexions with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. It is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who, that is a sincere friend to it, can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?"

So here, forthwith, is my commentary in the blog to the right.  Let me know what you think.

In Defense of the So-Called Cult Following of President Donald J. Trump

by Gerri Gibney on 01/08/21

Recently we’ve heard cries that the people who follow Trump are simply cultist, nationalistic, right wing, religious, deplorable, red-neck, Bible thumping, irredeemable, non-thinking yahoos who really are mean, despicable, unkind, un-American, ill-educated louts who revere and worship the ground Trump walks on, and in so doing, believe Trump can do no wrong, after all he is the consummate demi-god who has beguiled more than half the population with his charlatan personality to follow him.

I would vehemently declare this cult-theory group wrong.

The hue and cry we hear; Trump calls people names, that’s unkind, it’s not Presidential has been going on for quite some time, including Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, with the result Adams did not attend the Jefferson inauguration, and not speaking for twelve years.

A more egregious example of name-calling is Barack Obama in referring to working-class voters in old industrial towns decimated by job losses, saying: "They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Or the Hillary Clinton remarks; “You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.  Right?” Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it.  And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”

Here we have a former President, and a would-be President calling millions of American citizens names without any substantiation.  They even went so far as to claim the high ground of morality, and in Ms. Clinton’s view, to say Americans were irredeemable.

If you listen closely to President Trump’s remarks when he does call someone a name, it is generally when that someone has said something derogatory about him.  Also, Trump always follows up with something such as he’s a nice guy, he’s O.K., or some remark indicating he is not attacking the character of the person, but is characterizing his opponent’s perceived weakness.

Joe Biden during the campaign called Trump the first elected racist US President.  Biden doesn’t know Trump, and he certainly doesn’t know history.

However, Trump supporters are called cultists because we excuse what others see as boorish and un-presidential, and we see as the truth.  Vitriol has been in many political campaigns, and we’ve already heard Mr. Biden before his inauguration railing against racist Trump supporters.

What are we really looking at when we see a MAGA citizen?  We see a fiercely patriotic citizen who wants what every other American wants; justice, freedom, liberty, to be able to use their God given talents to participate in this Republic without hindrance from their government.  A safe place to live, a job, an income, an education, you know, the American dream.

By the time Donald Trump came along, the ideals of our Founders were not given much credence, we were told America is not such a great country, we weren’t exceptional, we were told we weren’t tolerant or accepting of others, we were racist, we were selfish, some even said we were beyond redemption.  We needed to be punished and accept guilt because of our skin color.  We had to accept our jobs were gone in our great factories, and would never come back, this was the new norm.  We were told and taught we were intolerant, and that the Bible was wrong, and had to endorse and promote sin, or the Federal government would punish us.  The government set morality, not our churches, not the parents in the home, and the churches were silent.  We celebrated and gave money for out of wedlock births, to perpetuate an underclass of people in order to keep them subservient to the state.  We endorsed infanticide in the name of woman’s choice.

Donald Trump is not the one responsible for what some think is a cult centered on him.  Hopefully, he will be the first of many who champion our great nation, who are patriots.  If there is any cult, it is the cult of AMERICA!

We know good from evil, we know we can never live up to our ideals, and we know most of all that God has shone His light on us, and will continue to do so as we remain steadfast.   We pray for His wisdom, guidance, and strength as He continues to bless us, we, the American people.

Amen.

THIS IS AN APOLOGY TO THE IRREDEEMABLE, NON-AMERICAN “BASKET OF DEPLORABLES” ???

by Gerri Gibney on 09/10/16

Here are direct quotes from Hillary Clinton as she tried to wiggle out of her remarks about the “Basket of Deplorables:”

“Last night I was ‘grossly generalistic,’ and that’s never a good idea.  I regret saying ‘half – that was wrong.”

“I also meant what I said last night about empathy, and the very real challenges we face as a country where so many people have been left out and left behind. As I said, many of Trump’s supporters are hard-working Americans who just don’t feel like the economy or our political system are working for them.”

Again, this is an apology???

What does “grossly generalistic” mean anyway?  She keeps using it, but it is not in the dictionary.  Maybe we should submit it to Webster’s as a new word which means:  “How to lose an election.”

And, when you read her original remarks, she never said anything about  “… many of Trump’s supporters are hard-working Americans…”

If she had said that would it make any difference?  Don’t think so.

Hillary you’ve shown everyone in America who you really are; an elite, brash snob, who thinks she can do anything she wants without fear of the law or justice.  You lie, cheat, are unethical, and most of all have no empathy or understanding of the American people, or why America is great, and why Mr. Trump will make it great, again.

Think about it, all of Hillary’s speeches are carefully crafted.  Why would she and her staff put such outrageous thoughts into a speech?  Because she did not think the American people would possibly react to her using the phrase “Basket of Deplorables.”  And, that the American people would not realize that she and Obama have had eight years to enact his hope and change, and instead are a disaster.  She also thought “what does it matter…” when she insults and is contemptuous of more than half the population.

This is your Waterloo, Hillary.  Own it!

COUNT ME IN THE “BASKET OF DEPLORABLES!”

by Gerri Gibney on 09/10/16

Hillary’s just created her very own “Carter Malaise” speech.  Carter blamed his own failures and shortcomings on the American people in a speech later to become known as the “Malaise Speech.”  And now, Hillary has slammed and slandered half of the American people because we won’t vote for her!

Here are her very own quotes:

On Friday Hillary said:  "To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.   Right?  Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it."

And, on Thursday she said Trump's supporters were divided into "two big baskets:  what she called "the deplorables," in an interview with Channel 2 News Israel.  "There are what I call the deplorables -- the racists, you know, the haters, and the people who are drawn because they think somehow he's going to restore an America that no longer exists. So just eliminate them from your thinking, because we've always had an annoying prejudicial element within our politics."

Hillary then said some of these people were "irredeemable" and "not America.”

Sound familiar?  Remember Obama’s “guns and religion” and Romney’s “47% remark.”

Here’s more:  "That other basket of people are people who feel that government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures. They are just desperate for change. Doesn't really even matter where it comes from."

Hillary continued, "They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they're in a dead end. Those are people who we have to understand and empathize with as well."

Can you imagine?  For the last eight years Obama and Hillary have had the leadership of America in their hands, and they, like Carter, have failed.  And, now she is going to empathize with us and understand us?   Will emphasizing and understanding bring back a job?  Will it bring back a kid lost to heroine?  Will there be light at the end of the tunnel instead of a dead end?

How does she answer the people who feel government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about their futures.  Those who are just desperate for change.  What’s her answer?  By calling us “BASKET OF DEPLORABLES.”  That we are “IRREDEEMABLE” and “NOT AMERICA.”

Well, Mrs. Clinton, don’t worry yourself about any of these questions.  Don’t trouble yourself about we the “BASKET OF DEPLORABLES.”

You are not going to be president, because you hold the American people in contempt.  The American people, unlike what you believe, are fair, just, and want what is right for all Americans, not just a chosen few.

REPUBLICAN ELITES ON THE TRASH HEAP OF HISTORY –

by Gerri Gibney on 05/08/16

REPUBLICAN ELITES ON THE TRASH HEAP OF HISTORY –

The Revolution Has Begun!

Is the Republican Party falling apart, exploding, imploding, crashing?  Or is it a very small, minute, tiny segment of the Republican elite who are watching their Republican world falling apart, exploding, imploding and crashing before their very eyes.  Their insular Republicanism is going the way of the buggy, and they really, really don’t like it.

Curious isn’t it, the very people who wanted unity at the end of the primary season are now running away from Donald Trump, the choice of the people.  You’ve read the statistics; Mr. Trump has blown away all the numbers during the primary season.  More people have come out for him to pull the lever because they know, instinctively, this is the right guy.

Why is that?  He has answered the earnest call of the very people who put all these half-hearted Republicans into the House and Senate to stop Obama.  They wanted representatives of change, of courage, of clear-minded common sense to get rid of Obama Care, build the wall, stop spending, fix the Veterans’ Administration, build up our military and support them, get government off our backs by eliminating the crushing burden of laws and regulations that stymie free enterprise, and to make a level playing field on the world stage in commerce.  What happened after we elected a MAJORITY in the House and Senate?  Simple answer:  NOTHING!  And now, these very people who campaigned on all of this and promised their best effort rolled over and let Obama have his way.  Paul Ryan went so far as to eagerly pass the last budget which would fund exactly what Obama wanted.  So much for the loyal opposition.  And now Mr. Ryan does not want to support the presumptive Republican standard bearer?  I believe the Freedom Caucus should be revived and ask for his immediate resignation.  He is not worthy of the office.

As far as the former Bush presidents they are a complete mystery.  For all the years of the Obama administration and his taking down America, they were SILENT.  They never said a word as Obama drove our beloved country deeper into debt, promoted racism, gutted and eviscerated our military, practiced crony capitalism, with his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, made the Middle East into a tinder box that could explode at any time, created thousands of Syrian refugees, allowed ISIS and all the Muslim fanatics free reign as they spread fear, mayhem, and killing around the globe, as Obama made us the paper tiger, laughing-stock of the entire world.   Not only does the world mistrust us, they no longer respect us.  And where was the Bush family?  But, they are more than willing to say they will not support the nominee of the Party?

Mitt Romney is one more silent elite who does not want to lose his power and standing.  As far as I am concerned, he already has.

What basis do all these so-called leaders give for not supporting Trump?  Frankly, I don’t care.  The very fact they won’t shows me they are afraid of losing their standing, however, Donald Trump is fearless and doesn’t care either.  He cares what America needs, not what this small minority of people crave, their power and the status quo.  What elites don’t understand is for all the years the people worked and voted for them to give them their power, and were left empty-handed, now the REVOLUTION is in full swing, for the people are tired of unkept promises.  Time for action, time to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
