Welcome to the Sons of Liberty webpage.  I decided after the debacle of the last general election in 2012 to put up this webpage in order to have a voice.  Like many of you I have felt completely helpless against what unfortunately has happened - the second term election of Barack Hussein Obama, and what I believe to be the consequences of this election

The purpose of this webpage is myriad.  One of the most important reasons is for me to be able to write about what is going on in our country and to speak with likeminded Americans who want to be heard and also to know the comfort that there are people out there who think similar to you.  My first article for this page is "Thoughts on the Presidential Election of 2012."  I wrote this piece in November 2012 right after the election and as you will read, I have serious concerns about our future.  In the comings days, I'll write on political issues as well as morality issues, since they are truly linked.

President George Washingon said in his 1796 Farewell address:  "Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connexions with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. It is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who, that is a sincere friend to it, can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?"

So here, forthwith, is my commentary in the blog to the right.  Let me know what you think.

“We’re at a Crossroads…”

Where is all the hysteria over a battle flag of the Confederate Army going to end?  I believe it is not going to end anytime soon.  I truly hope that it does, however, the Communists in our midst are going to make sure that they take advantage of this crisis; they are going to attack our Founders as slave owners in order to erase their place in our history.  Think I’m being a bit over the top?  That I’ve been caught up in the moment?  Let me make my case.

For the last forty plus years, the public schools in this country have not put much emphasis on American history.  Nor have they taught civics.  Many people do not know our glorious history, nor do they know anything about how the government of the United States works.  Many understand it as a large piggy bank, from which they are entitled to take it down from the shelf and shake out as many coins as necessary to satisfy their needs.  Never mind that they have never put in any coins.  That’s about as far as they know when it comes to our government.  After all, everyone is entitled to what everyone else has.  It wouldn’t be “fair” if someone had more than I did – right?

Now, without any idea of our history and the people who are a part of that history, we are going to expunge everything that has to do with slavery.  Many think slavery is the great sin of America, followed closely by the sin of global warming, followed by whatever suits the Communist to make the American citizen guilty of something, anything.  Since fewer and fewer people have any religious training, i.e., Sunday School, Schul, CCD they no longer understand the sinful nature of man.  On the contrary, they only know the secular sins which are declared by the Left; you use too much gas, you ruin our environment, you hate gays, you don’t eat right, you are selfish, and on and on.  The Liberal has an answer to rid you of your sin and your sinful life, and that is Government.  Yes, Government will wash away all of these sins and make you right with the Earth.  Notice how I capitalized the word “Earth?”  This is because the “Earth” has become one of our new gods, not in my world, but certainly in the Liberal one.

With all sin, how do we assess what and who we will edit out and what and who are more sinful, or less sinful?  Who decides?

Let’s talk about some of our history.  In the late 1800’s great waves of immigrants came to this country, and they were discriminated against.  The Irish had to drop the “Mc’s,” and the “O’s,” from their names to try and get a job.  The Italians were in the same position.  The Jewish people were not allowed into WASP institutions.  During WW II the Japanese were interned in camps, and a shipload of refugee Jews were forbidden safe harbor in the United States of America.  At the beginning of the 20th century, Woodrow Wilson imprisoned American women suffragettes who were demonstrating for the vote.  Should we obliterate the name “Franklin D. Roosevelt” and “Woodrow Wilson” from every public building, and never mention them again?

Now to the title of this essay; “We are at a Crossroads.”  What are we going to do when the ignorant hordes start coming for our Founding Fathers, under the guise that they were mere slave owners and nothing else.  What will we do?  Sit silent and let them do it?  Not me.

There needs to be a resurgence of the American spirit.  Don’t know how this is going to begin, but I believe there are lots of us out there and we can muster the will and the wherewithal to bring about this renaissance.

Let’s start with prayer.
