"THE BUCK STOPS HERE! - The Boston Bombings"
by Gerri Gibney on 04/16/13
How very sad about the bombings in Boston. All we can do is pray and ask God for His love and care for all the people in that lovely city and to be with the families who have lost loved ones.
Like everyone else I’ve been listening to the various news reports and right now everything is speculation as to what happened. Was it a terrorist? Nothing has been reported as definitive, but we do hear all the various experts on this type of bombing. I was listening to a local talk show early this morning and I was astounded and not a little angry as to what I heard from some of the callers. One said; "...what can we do? This type of thing is going to happen; there is nothing we can do about it." Another even went so far as to say it was the “new normal.” Adding that she hated those words “new normal” but they were unfortunately true. She was assuming that it was a terrorist attack and this is what we had to look forward to as we went forward. The talk show host agreed with her!
After
“9/11” our country has had many threats and plots from terrorist groups and
individual crazy terrorist people that we have not heard about and probably
will never know about. Many we do know
about; the van filled with explosives right in Times Square which was
thwarted. After “9/11” President George
W. Bush did his very best to keep our country safe. His foreign policy let the rest of the world
know we were not going to sit back and let our people be terrorized. The very idea of “9/11” being the “new
normal” after those attacks would have been repugnant to all Americans. The bombings in Boston should be thought of
the same; an ungodly, dastardly, cowardly act that deserves swift and complete
punishment. Not an act that is thought
of as what we need to get used to as the “new normal.” Is this what many Americans want to
happen? That we lie down, roll over, and
live in fear?
What has happened to our fellow citizens to change their hearts and minds about terrorism? If in fact, it is terrorism. We must remember the Boston bombings happened under the watch of President Barack Hussein Obama, the Commander and Chief of our nation. The same man who went to sleep the night four of our countrymen were murdered in Benghazi. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in her testimony about Benghazi got angry that anyone would question her ability or her motivation as to how Benghazi was handled by saying; “What does it matter?”
If it is terrorism, of any type, we must look at why these bombings took place now. Is it possible that terrorists have looked at the measure of the man we call our Commander in Chief and found him without resolve or a foreign policy? Look at what has happened under his watch; much of the Middle East is under the rule of Islamist extremists, we have turned away from our allies in Poland and the Czech Republic. In our own country we won’t call a terrorist what he is, an enemy combatant, instead we call it “work place violence.” Fort Hood should never have happened. His superiors knew he was making open threats, that he was an Islamist extremist. His superiors did not want to label him as an Islamist extremist. As a result of this “work place violence” the people who were murdered cannot receive a Purple Heart and the benefits due their families.
Next, we will hear that the sequester is at fault for this tragedy. Congressman Peter King, a member of the Homeland Security committee, has already gone on record that Homeland Security has been affected. Now we will be told by the media outlets it is the Republican’s fault that Homeland Security is not adequately funded because of the Republican’s sequester. When in reality, it is President Barack Hussein Obama that came up with the idea of the sequester and endorsed it. The AP and the rest of the so-called reporters will make it the Republicans fault.
What happened to President Harry Truman’s adage; “THE BUCK STOPS HERE!”
Oh, I am sorry, President Barack Hussein Obama gets a pass. The last President that this axiom applied to was President George W. Bush, so it must be his fault.
