I had a short conversation in the narthex of our church this morning with two friends about faith and morality in their lives, be it either in the workplace or in a social setting. A few things really stood out about this conversation; first, it is heartening that we were having this conversation in the first place, and second; that others also are talking and thinking about the subject.
Rich related that the subject of Pope Benedict’s resignation had come up in conversation in his place of work. Under normal circumstances, this would not be very noteworthy since it was the topic for the last few weeks, but the remark made by one of his co-workers was; it went something like this, we should not be talking about religion at work. Rich’s retort was right on target; he said something like, the last time I checked we were still in America and we did enjoy freedom of speech. As it turns out, others in the group concurred.
For my part in the conversation I related that every time I picked up a magazine in recent weeks, I was reading another article on morality, religion, and its absolute essentiality in the public square. I pointed out that I had just read a book review entitled “The Faith of Americans” by Matthew J. Franck. Mr. Franck is the director of the William E. and Carol G. Simon Center on Religion and the Constitution at the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton, New Jersey. The Witherspoon Institute is an independent research center that works to enhance public understanding of the moral foundations of free and democratic societies. The Institute promotes the application of fundamental principles of republican government and ordered liberty to contemporary problems through a variety of research and educational ventures. On their site is a section called “Public Discourse” wherein every day an article is published by a variety of writers on morality in the public square.
Getting back to my conversation after church with my two friends, Betty lamented that what could we, or should we be doing to counteract the progressives of this country. She answered her own question by saying she never misses an opportunity to stand tall when the subject comes up concerning morality or the lack of it in our lives.
I am thankful for people like these who stand up and speak out. And, I thank God I am not alone.

WHERE ARE THE PATRIOTS? – PATRICK HENRY WE NEED YOU!
by Gerri Gibney on 02/25/13
Does anyone feel like I do? First, I was deflated by the 2012 general election; practically in a depression, I was. Then the
Now we have come to another turn in our emotional journey and that is many of the conservative writers and so-called thinkers and leaders of the party telling us we need to be quiet, don’t wreck the Republican Party with our conservatism. If you read any of the articles I have, you would think it was our fault that we lost in November, and now we are about to decimate the Grand Old Party forever! Why? We don’t appeal to the broad middle, the so-called, independent voter; we don’t have a good story for any of the minorities; and our narrative simply does not play for the young. With what I have been reading, why should we do anything at this point? Buck up and fight? We are told we’re too dogmatic, that economics are not the problem, we are forgetting the people. Really? So we should be looking to bankrupt the American people to give away everything that is earned in order to make the middle be content? Am I missing something here?
Are these in name only Republicans crazy? Quite frankly, they need to get out of our way, and we should be screaming, yelling, and do whatever is necessary to let those people in
Who is going to be the first PATRIOT who stands up and says; “Mr. President, you are a liar!” The sequester is Barack Hussein Obama’s idea in the first place, now live with it! DO

BENGHAZI AND THE TURKEY MURDER – LOOKING FOR AN HONEST MAN
by Gerri Gibney on 02/07/13
Isn’t it amazing that we have heard more about that poor woman from Staten Island who was murdered on a visit to Turkey than we have heard or learned about the killing of our Ambassador Chris Stevens and Sean Smith, Glenn Doherty, and Tyrone Woods the three brave American heroes in Benghazi?
Every time you turn on the radio, the T.V. or read the news you learn something new about this woman’s goings and comings. Half the press corps must be on top of this, and, yet, what did we hear about the incident in
Here’s a question for the press core; what difference does it make about this lady from
Again, I ask why is the
Why are the press, and the American government, under the auspices of the F.B.I. going over this murder in
We must demand the truth. The so-called hearings were a sham, and the elected officials who sat on that committee should be ashamed of themselves. We received no answers, just lies, and disinformation.
George Washington said “I hope I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” Mrs. Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama will never possess that title.

“FIFTH COLUMN” IN THE USA HAS COME OUT OF THE CLOSET
by Gerri Gibney on 01/31/13
Many people don’t know the origin of the term “fifth column.” They kind of know it has something to do with secrets, sedition, and possibly overturning a government, but are really not sure as to where the term came from, or what it means.
During the Spanish Civil War, fought between 1936 and 1939, a Nationalist General, Emilio Mola told a journalist early in the war that as four columns of his troops approached Madrid, a “fifth column” of supporters inside the city would support him and undermine the Republican government from within. The journalist reported the general’s comment; the term was widely used in Spain, and ultimately the world. Like many modern terms of any day, the “fifth column” has pretty much gone out of use, until now. How appropriate has this term become in our time! Think about it – our government has been infiltrated by people who determine national policy and defense, who use fifth column tactics, including misinformation campaigns to undermine the foundation of American life. What’s worse is that the fifth column of today has many of the press standing with them, and even cheering them on as they take the city. The misinformation campaign is easy for this fifth column; the press doesn’t ask the questions, doesn’t do its homework, and truth is not part of their journalistic creed. The “Fifth Column of the 21st Century” is led by Barack Hussein Obama and you can’t get any higher than that when you want to infiltrate a government, so the fifth column is really out of the closet. What started this line of thinking on my part? We purchased a treatise called “The Book on Obama, His Friends, His Lies & His Plans” published by Grassfire Nation and written by Steve Elliott and John Aman. This little book is filled with what many of us already know, however, it is an encapsulation of much of the information and stories you have heard and read and it again opens your eyes to who Barack Hussein Obama is as a man. We can never know what is in a man’s heart, we only know a man by his actions. President George Washington said; “A slender acquaintance with the world must convince every man that actions, not words, are the true criterion of the attachment of friends; and that the most liberal professions of goodwill are very far from being the surest marks of it.”
My future blogs will discuss the actions of Barack Hussein Obama and his most liberal professions of goodwill. In the meantime, let me know what you believe... Gerri Gibney
Jane Fonda - Traitor
by Gerri Gibney on 01/28/13
Received this e-mail from a friend and I believe it is important to pass it on to as many people as possible.
She has now been chosen to play Nancy Reagan in her life story.
I am sending this one out because so many do not know this truth...
and also because she was on 3 times this week talking about her new book...
And how good she feels in her 70's... she still does not know what she did wrong..her book just may not make the best list if more people knew...
also...
Barbara Walters said:
Thank you all. Many died in Vietnam for our freedoms.
I did not like Jane Fonda then and I don't like her now.
She can lead her present life the way she wants and perhaps SHE can forget the past, but we DO NOT have to stand by without comment and see her "honored" as a "Woman of the Century."
(I remember this well)
For those who served and/or died. . .
NEVER FORGIVE A TRAITOR. SHE REALLY WAS A TRAITOR!!
and now President OBAMA wants to honor her......!!!!
In Memory of LT. C. Thomsen Wieland who spent 100 days at the Hanoi Hilton [Famous North Vietnam Prison]
IF YOU NEVER FORWARDED ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE FORWARD THIS SO THAT EVERYONE WILL KNOW!!!!!!
A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED.
KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA
This is for all the kids born in the 70's and after who do not remember, and didn't have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers an d sisters had to bear.
Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the '100 Women of the Century.'
BARBARA WALTERS WRITES:
Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country, but specific men who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War.
The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot.
The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.
In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison the ' Hanoi Hilton.'
Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American 'Peace Activist' the 'lenient and humane treatment' he'd received.
He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward on to the camp Commandant 's feet, which sent that officer berserk.
In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied application of a wooden baton.
From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the ' Hanoi Hilton'...the first three of which his family only knew he was 'missing in action'. His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a 'peace delegation' visit.
They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it, in the palm of his hand. When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: 'Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?' and 'Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?' Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper.
She took them all without missing a beat.. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper...
Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.
I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam , and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.
I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia ; and one year in a 'black box' in Hanoi . My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Banme Thuot , South Vietnam , whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs)
We were Jane Fonda's 'war criminals....'
When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi , I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with her. I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received... and how different it was from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as 'humane and lenient.'
Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched with a large steel weight placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane.
I had the opportunity to meet with Jan e Fonda soon after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never did answer me.
These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of '100 Years of Great Women.' Lest we forget....' 100 Years of Great Women' should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots.
There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can.. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget.
